Mini!

Before Christmas I decided to tackle socks for the first time for presents for my brother and dad. I eased into it by making Thuja, which was a simple pattern with an aran weight yarn. They turned out great.

First-ever socks for Dad:

Eventually I'm going to tackle making a pair for myself with regular sock yarn. This should do the trick....

Over the holidays while yarn shopping with my mom and Grandma, we found this...

but don't be fooled...

How cute is that?! My Grandma, Mom and I found these little ones at Klose Knit, in Urbana, Illinois. It was such a cute store, and this little treasure will make one little sock or mitten ornament. The owner of the store called them "yarn eggs." The yarn is Opal sock yarn, based on Harry Potter characters. Seems a little silly when stash yarn can be used for the same thing, but come on, would you pass that up?
